The Rye
The Rye is a large expanse of parkland (approximately 53 acres) in High Wycombe. At one end of the park is the Lido, an outdoor swimming pool open in the summer and public tennis courts. At the back of the park there’s a stretch of water called the Dyke where you can feed the ducks or hire a boat. There’s 2 children’s playgrounds; one in the centre with a variety of play equipment which I didn’t visit. The other is on the far right of the park with plenty of wooden climbing equipment, 2 mini trampolines , a small basketball court and swings. At this end of the park is a small tea hut serving hot drinks and ice creams.
There are public toilets but unfortunately they are at the lido a long way across the other side of the park especially if your darling lo is desperate for an no.2!
There’s a public pay & display car park at the far end of the park by the Lido, and another by Trinity Church off the London Road, which is opposite the park and nearer both the children’s playgrounds.
