Garth Park

The work on the new play area in Garth Park is complete. The new look play area includes locally resourced boulders and man-made natural looking mounds which fit in well with the traditional looking features already present in Garth Park. The Town Council has also installed seating areas made from recycled local timber which has fallen or been felled. Play equipment which has been installed alongside the new water feature includes:

• 30m cable run (zip wire)
• Swings
• Toddler swings
• Double swing
• Nest swing
• Stand up see saw
• Crawling tunnels through the mounds
• Balancing combination unit
• Activity play panels
• 2 x rockers
• 3 x Climbing units

The new play area also includes a Discovery Stream which has natural boulders and laid stones. The water features has areas where children can create pressure via pumps and gully’s making the water follow around the feature and include:

• Standing platforms
• Gully gates
• Water spiral/screw
• Water mushrooms
• Waterspout seats
• Wooden water tubs
• Flap gates

There’s also a lovely new cafe with toilet facilities and delicious cakes, drinks, sandwiches.
